Coral Gables, Fla. – No. 3 Texas Men's Tennis captured both the singles and doubles titles of the Miami Spring Invitational following the conclusion of play on Sunday. Senior Micah Braswell won his third-straight collegiate singles championship after winning the ITA Fall Nationals and ITA Texas Regionals in the fall, while seniors Eliot Spizzirri and Cleeve Harper claimed the doubles championship. Both posted 2-0 records for the weekend.

Much of Sunday's schedule play was affected by weather as rainy conditions led to the omission of doubles play and cut most singles matchups short. However, the Longhorns did pick up wins in the only two completed singles contests of the day. In those, No. 1 Spizzirri defeated Rudy Ceccon, 6-2, 6-1, and junior No. 49 Pierre-Yves Bailly earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Stefan Latinovic.

Due to the weather, the remaining singles matches were unable to be completed, and play was suspended at 12:45 p.m. CT.

The Longhorns won 15 of their 20 singles matches and six of their nine doubles contests over their three days at the Miami Spring Invite. 

Next up, Texas will host Lamar on Friday, Jan. 12, at 4 p.m. CT at the Texas Tennis Center.
