They then held in the next game to take the match.

On No. 1, Spizzirri and Cleeve Harper found themselves in a tight match against Alan Magadan and Tomas Pinho of UTSA. Although there were four deuce points in the stretch, both duos held serve until UTSA broke to go up 6-5. Not to be outdone, Spizzirri and Harper answered with a break of their own to win the next game and force a tiebreaker. Spizzirri and Harper jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the tiebreaker, but UTSA answered with a 3-0 run for the lead. In the second set, Skelly opened with a deuce-point hold, but Brown answered by going on a 5-0 run and only dropped one more game on a deuce-point where he had a break opportunity, but he finished on serve in the next game.

The clinching match for Texas was Micah Braswell's 6-3, 6-2 win over Tiago Torres at No. 2. Three of the first four games were decided by a deuce point, with each player breaking and holding starting with Torres to put it back on serve at 2-2. Braswell then went on a 3-0 run that included a big deuce point win to go up, 5-2. Torres held serve to answer, but Braswell closed out the first set immediately after. In the second set, both Braswell and Torres earned a break to open, but Braswell went on a 4-0 run for a 5-1 lead. After Torres won the next game, Braswell closed out the match by winning another big deuce point to give UT the win by a score of 4-1.
