SEATTLE, Wash. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team finished off a weekend of facing Pac-12 foes with a 5-2 loss to Washington on Sunday in Seattle, a setback that came on the heels of the Badgers' upset of No. 42 Oregon on Friday.
The Badgers (5-5) were off and running to start the match, claiming the doubles point from the Huskies (9-3).
Jared Pratt and
Daniel Nuzhny got the first Wisconsin win, playing at the No. 3 position, to complete an undefeated weekend as a pair. The duo defeated Cesar Bouchelaghem and Ewan Lusden 6-4.
Sebastian Vile and
Robin Parts battled through a back-and-forth match against Washington's Jack Davis and Brandon Wong. The pair came from behind to tie it up 6-6, before a dominant tiebreaker performance made them 7-6 (7-2) winners and clinched the doubles point for the team.
Tim Dzhurinskiy was the lone Badger to win his singles match. He played tough and fought the entire match, winning a very close first set 7-5 followed by a 6-4 rout to end the second over Bouchelaghem.
